Mathematics

In Seahorses, our aim is for the children to be able to automatically recall most of the 66 multiplication facts, bar a few that they don't learn until Year 4. 

To help with this, we ask the children to complete 20 minutes of Times Table Rockstars each week, in Garage Mode. Occasionally a Gig will be set to help the teacher measure progress over time. Knowing multiplication facts fluently lifts a whole layer of thinking from the children, allowing them to focus on mathematical thinking, reasoning and problem solving.

Reading

Please read as much as possible and frequently. Read to your children as well as listening to them.
