Welcome to Sharks class page.

Mrs Saint teaches everyday from Monday through to Friday.

Mrs Brooke teaches on a Monday afternoon.

Mrs Craig teaches on a Wednesday afternoon.

Mathematics

In Sharks, our aim is for the children to be able to automatically recall the 66 multiplication facts. This will be checked by the DfE as part of the Year 4 Multiplication Check in June. Please select the hyperlink to access the DfE information for this check.

To help with this, we ask the children to complete 30 minutes of Times Table Rockstars each week, in Garage Mode. Occasionally a Gig will be set to help the teacher measure progress over time. Knowing multiplication facts fluently lifts a whole layer of thinking from the children, allowing them to focus on mathematical thinking, reasoning and problem solving.
