Uniform

Uniform with our school motif can be purchased at 'Rag Tags' in Blandford.  However, 'motifed' items are not mandatory. and  you are free to source clothing elsewhere as long as it follows the guidelines set out below.  All items of uniform MUST be named. Second-hand uniform is available from our PTA. Please ask at the office.

Our children wear pale blue or yellow shirts, blouses or polo shirts.  Both boys and girls can wear grey trousers or shorts;  they may also wear grey skirts, Durweston tartan skirts,  or blue or yellow gingham summer dresses.  Our  jumpers are blue. The children wear school shoes or trainers which must be entirely black and which must have laces, a bar, or buckles, so that they are secure enough for the children to comfortably run in. Socks should be  white, grey or black.

We like our children to look smart and well presented, so do ask that they don't wear big or fussy hair accessories. Long hair must be tied back at all times.

Stud earrings only please and one watch if necessary. This must be removed for PE and will remain the responsibility of the child. No other jewellery please, apart from medical identity necklaces or bracelets.

For PE, our children wear blue t-shirts with Durweston on the back, with black shorts. They may wear plain black leggings when it is cold. To keep warm they need a blue  hoody with our name on the back.  PE trainers should be black. We ask that children  wear their PE kit to school on days they have PE.

Children will also need:

A refillable, leak-proof, named water bottle.

A rucksack - Ragtags stock blue rucksacks with our school logo.

All rucksacks should have at least two sections: a main section that is big enough for a lunch box and a separate section that is big enough to house a reading record/reading journal and reading book. The bag should also have an outside pocket for a weather bottle  and a hook on the top to enable it to be hung on a peg.

A waterproof coat which should be in school everyday.

And just repeating this, as it is more important than you would imagine, please make sure all items brought into school are named so that if lost, they can always find their way back to your child.
