Our team

Mrs Horn teaches on Mondays and Mrs Carroll teaches Tuesday to Friday.  Mrs Turner is the TA.

EYFS

Phonics and Reading

We use Sounds Write to teach phonics. The children will come home with sounds and words to practise, as well as books to read.  Please share books with your child as often as you can.  Reading  to them and with them, as well as hearing them read, will help  develop a real love of books which will sustain them through their journey to becoming fluent readers. 

Physical Education

Physical Development is an important part of our curriculum. We use the school hall for large apparatus on a Thursday afternoon. We suggest that children come into school in their PE kits on this day. 

Outdoor Learning and Forest School

We are very fortunate to be located in the beautiful village of Durweston, surrounded by woodland and fields. We take full advantage of our location, and take our learning outside when we can in all weathers. We suggest that all of our children have their wellingtons and coats in school at all times to enable this.
